This creamy garlic pasta is a simple, comforting meal made with tender pasta, fragrant garlic, olive oil, and a rich, silky sauce. It comes together quickly and is perfect for an easy weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 12 oz (340 g) pasta
- 4 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
- ½ cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Method
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain.
- Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, stirring constantly. Do not let the garlic brown.
- Pour in the heavy cream and stir gently. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Add the Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Stir until the cheese melts and the sauce becomes smooth.
- Add the cooked pasta and toss until evenly coated. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water.
- Remove from the heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
- Serve immediately while warm.
